Any good places in Edmonton for Por-15 or similar anti-rust goo? From reading there website they recommend some marine cleaner thing which is a degreaser as well as a metal treatment prior to using por 15.
Does anyone have any idea how much of this stuff would be needed to do front and rear fenders and trunk of a 85 Corolla?
A Quart of Por15 is supposed to do 96 square feet ( google tells me 96 (square feet) = 8.91869184 m^2) ) which seems like it would probably be enough.
I'm just considering the preliminaries, but basicly my idea is to tear down the fenders sand and prep the metal for por15. Coat it inside and outside and then Prime? (is this needed with por15? ) and then paint flat black or flat blue (or some flat). Then Clear Coat.
I have no idea what i'm doing at all and would really appreciate any advise or "stupid noob your out to lunch.. do this first" etc.
Also.. I would like to treat the underbody, but thinking about it makes me cringe. Is it something that can easily be accomplished with a car on jacks? Or is this something better left to a shop to get the underbody rust protected and rockgarded.
Thanks
