I have a 1988 Cavalier that serves as my "beater car". It runs well in the warmer weather, around 70 degrees and up, but terrible in the cold. In the cold, if the car is in Park, and i rev the engine, it will die at about half throttle and stall if i don't let up. If I put the car in gear and push the throttle it dies. The weird part is... if i pump the gas pedal, I can get it to go. Eventually (after about 3 mins of "limping" the car around) the car all of a sudden runs fine. It seems that when it warms up it works normal. I need help with what the problem could be, because I am out of clues. I have already tried the following:
- Throttle Position Sensor (which is what the scanner showed)
- Fuel Filter
- Fuel Pump
- IAC Modules
- Air filter
It has a 2.0L 4 banger. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot guys.
