So, Which engine is it? (nissan/datsun)

i have an 84 nissan stanza(nissan/datsun engine), auto, 4cyl, but its got 8 spark plugs what type/size/info can you give me on this engine?

mazda also used a twin plug design on a few engines. Basically 2 plugs per cyl. Old jags used this system as well.

its called a ca20e, really weak engine, came in 200sx's

its a 2 liter engine 8 valve single over head cam puts out about 100hp on a good day

and yes its a twin spark plug system, but one set of plugs turns off past 3500rpm

I had a 200sx with that engine. Funny engine, and i think it was a 12 valve, not an eight valve. It was related to the old ca18et.

Can u let me know how the 200sx engine is so weak when it's got twin plug's (I'm not to familiar with the nissan/datsun engines) One of my friends's got a 180 Stanza with a 2L head which he made quite fast, he asked me for advice and I looked at him with a blank face.....so any info could help.

All the second plugs are for is emissions. They are there to burn off what doesnt burn in the beginning of the combustion stroke.

WTF is a 180 Stanza?!?! Is it a 180SX, if so it would be fast, or is it a Stanza (slow).


Anyway on my old '83 200SX I had the twin plug systems its called NAPS (Nissan Air Pollution System) I think, but I had the Z22e which was based off the Z20 which I think you may have. The Z22 was he predessor of the Z24 which was the base of the KA24, which Stanzas came with later on in their life.

i checked it out and i have a ca20s, any easy cheap ways of speeding it up a bit... its for an oval race car... so if i "adjust" the emissions stuff it wont matter...
