I've got one for my Eclipse but the engine isn't built yet so I can't tell you how it is from experience. Karl at Speedville has put them in a bunch of his customer's cars, give him a call if you are curious.

Dirty_SOHC uses a cometic HG on his car. I've also got a custom cometic head gasket on my 2.8L 944, but haven't run it in yet.

Cometic is the gasket that we use on all our motor builds great gasket. If you check out some of the hardcore V8 forums there are lots of guys that will say they run 30psi of boost on these motors using the cometic head gasket and have had no problems at all.

I was researching them when finding out solutions to the headgasket problem in phase 1 impreza motors (yours is phase 2, so you won't have to worry about it)

From what I've read, they hold up a lot better than the stock impreza ones do....

subaru redesigned the phase 1 ej25D headgaskets awhile back. From what i can tell, the new phase 1 gaskets are much better than the original design. the phase 1 headgaskets is also around 2.5 times thicker than the phase 2 ones. a pretty big difference in final compression ratio depending on bottom end and head setup... all the stock motor needs is the stock headgasket.. but this has nothing to do with the original topic so i'll leave it at that.

btw. thanks for the opinions on cometic headgaskets. helping a friend finalize his setup.
