After a long, cold winter, I am sure that we would all like to get out and stretch out a little. So here we go. The second SVTOA event for the 2004 season following "Dyno Day @ Diablo" (may 8th) will be the "Rumble in the Rockies"!!! (May 15&16)
Details of the Rumble Through the Rockies cruise for May 15th and 16th have been finalized and emailed to SVTOA Website members. If you missed or need a refresh on the email, you can still view it here.

The highlight of our trip is a drive along the scenic Icefields Parkway. Visit Athabasca Glacier, Sunwapta Falls or Peyto Lake on our way Jasper. This scenic drive offers incredible views and picture stops of many glacial lakes and hopefully the opportunity to see big horn sheep, moose, elk, and deer. We then travel past rugged mountains and lush valleys as we drive along the meandering Bow Valley Parkway. Then, travel northward along the Icefield Parkway to Jasper. This spectacular drive through glacier country will be highlighted by massive snow covered mountains, frozen waterfalls and broad reaching valleys.
We'll have the opportunity to view the wonders of the Maligne Canyon from the ground up! The canyon has withstood 10,000 years of erosion and has created a 165 foot gourge. Certified guides will lead groups of no more than 12 along the frozen canyon floor and its ice-clad limestone walls. Super soles and winter boots will keep you warm and secure as we explore this wonderland of rock and ice.
Cost to cover the BBQ for each member will be $25. There is a very rare Ford SVT collector prize that will be drawn on Saturday evening to all attending members. The fee will be collected in Jasper.
This event is open to non svtoa members. Anyone can join us

Items to bring
Many of the members have Multi channel GMRS/FRS radios. We will be using these for conversation on the trip. They usually have a range of ~5km. They are available in single and pairs for $30 to $60 from Walmart, Futureshop, Canadian Tire, Sears, Radio Shack, etc.
The weather .. Well, we're in Alberta so make sure you're prepared for warm or cold. Depending on our lodging, we may spend some time at an outside fire with beverages. We will be outside for our BBQ on Sunday, unless it's raining then we'll postpone the BBQ till the next meet.
