I respect the fact that he has made it while facing a huge disadvantage in the hiphop field - there are lots of white rappers, but he is the first to gain popularity and stay there for more than a few weeks.

I hope that him and his little whiny voice will one day come to an end because I am sick of hearign him on every radio station and in every little punk asses car, he can rhythm but he has absolutely no substance, his lyrics do stem from a difficult life but alot of it is trendy anger and overly portrayed hatred. By being white he is basically making rap music more easily relatable for every gay ass wigger who's mad and his or her parents. It also gives the cougars something to crank and makes them feel badass and "dope" while they cruise in their cadillacs and boxsters

personally i don't give a flying fock what he does. yeah i do listen to some of his songs on the radio, but just about all of his shit is overplayed. i can't stand half of his songs anymore, and i proved my theory about not being able to go 1 day without hearing "Without me" from the radio or some car with some punk kids blaring it. so i don't care if he raps or not, i am not that big of a fan of his...

i like his stuff, but can't stand how radio and much music play him every 2 seconds, ruining his song, and EVERYONE pumping "till i collapse" in their system.

i had to resort to getting a ripped copy of "the eminem show" 2 months before it came out, and gpt responses like "eminem is alright, but he is annoying", then two months later "eminem is the best rapper ever (which isn't true, tupac is BY FAR the best)" from the same people.

he is really talented, but people who listen to him because it is trendy piss me off.

I hated him at first, but he has talent, you have to give some respect. His music is overplayed, but not to the extent of Ja RUles music. I hate these kids who know nothing about hip hop who just pump his commercial singles, they don't know what's going on. Eminem doesn't really even like his singles, he writes those songs because he is told to.

2pac is one of my top 5 favorite artists. Is he the best MC ever? Hell no, he ain't even close, some of his songs are deep and i probably listen to more 2pac songs then any other artist, but he is no where near the best lyricist, there are people who could rap circles around him.

2pac is by no means the best rapper.

Edit - Ok, i got more i gotta say. Eminem is by no means stupid, he's probably got a couple reasons that he's making music. One of them is money, he knows what he is doing more than any other artist. You think his first single from the eminem show was written for his real fans??? No, he made the song as a single for all the little teenie bopper 12 year olds who want to be little rebels, knowing that they would run out and get his album so he could go around in his lamborghini and have the last laugh.

Why do I like him??? Because his songs aren't all about goin out and pickin up bitches, he actually has something to say. Some people say, quit bitchin and complainin, but i say, keep making music that actually means something. That's why I like Pac, the man had something to say, and he said it. Jay-z used to say things, but now he's just a sell out, pretending he was cool with Pac when Pac hated the punk. Most these people listen to Big Tymers and shit like that thinkin that's hip hop, that isn't hip hop, that's pure crap.

And that's exactly why he does it. He's a good lyricist, wasn't as good in his last cd, but it sold well because he knows how to use the media. I don't think he cares too much anymore about who he sells his cd's to anymore, he used to. He's by no means the best rapper, but he's pretty good. I think too many people judge how good a rapper is by their record sales.

Nelly isn't a good rapper, but he sells like crazy, there's so many rappers like this. Actually, I'm not even sure if I consider Nelly a rapper, Hot in Herre, is not rap.

Actually you know what, we should define best when we talk about this, I mean, 2pac touched a lot of people, and continues to sell after death, (he has a new cd out next month). In that way he was great, he had some deep songs with messages, but so do so many other people who deserve attention but don't get it. Too many people listen to the sound, but they don't listen to the words.
