Which entry submission/voting system should we use? Post your comments

Alright everybody, entry submission deadline for the May contest has come and gone and voting is underway. I want YOUR opinions as to which voting and entry submission system we should use. I'd like to hear your comments about the advantages/disadvantages of each.

1) Previous system which we used for like a year: Entries are submitted by users in the actual contest thread. Everybody knows who did which pic and allows for discussion about entries in comment thread (ie: how did you do that smoke effect? etc.)

2) Trial system: Entries are submitted via email and are posted by me as to keep it anonymous. Each entry is assigned a number and nobody knows who did which entry until the contest is over.
Comments thread seems to be dead with little to no discussion

Lets hear your opinions as to which system you prefer most and what you would like to see in the coming months.

One vote per account. Account must match Member profile. All votes remain anonymous. ???

IMO thats a little too complicated....people will be discouraged from voting

well the trial system is ok...if you dont mind running all the back work ... if you put the entry numbers up for voting purposes. i would reveal who did what. as far as the voting process i dont think that should be anoymous(misspelled). unless people dont want others to know who they voted for.... have you been having issues with people voting for their friends and not on quality of chops?

i like this current system we are using this month. this way popularity contests are not an issue and it remains a mystery until the very end

i like the trial thing... it gives newbies or "not popular" people a chance, bhe if you're gonna do that you should put in the rules that you are not allowed to in any way "brand" your chop.

this sytem really works well. and it gets you looking at the chops more because you keep thinking "i wonder who did this one"

the only reason I DON'T like this system is because the comments thread is dead...I liked talkin about the entries as they were posted

The reason anonymous voting would be a plus?

When people see the direction voting has been going - they tend to lean toward voting for the current lead instead of voting for their true preference, due to a perceived "Peer Pressure" to always vote for a "Winner."

By keeping the votes secret, and anonymous, voters would be more likey to choose the vehicle they truly liked.

Bad idea, it's all about favoritism.

Entries should stay anonymous, people should PM Nismo with their vote, or send nismo an email with the number of the car they want to vote for in the subject line, while stating their screen na me in the message body. And those that do not include their username will not have their vote counted.

I also like this way of voting.....although ive been around here for a while and i still dont knwo if i hav eenough entries to vote. But when people keep posting up to date images on what they have done in the contest for the current months contest...people always become influenced by those images. how many of the entries this month look alike...not very much at all. in previous months people always seem to do the same thing others are doing because they see the images and say...hey that looks good ill do that....or somthing of the sort. the comments thread is nice and all....but it also is bad incertain ways.

i much perfer the trial method. It will make sure most of the votes are based one the chop not the person (there is always a few people who will find out who their friends is and vote for them, but this is MUCH better)

i like this one but it seems like a lot of work for u nismo as long as it is cool with u i think it should stay annonomous the idea of pm'ing your vote to nismo is a good idea as well as long as it is not too much work for nismo but there also some problems that can occur with this method as well

well, looks like im the loner here. i prefer the old system. i mean, most people here have a known style by now so its not exactly hard to tell whos belongs who. i might have thought that we had favoritism issues in the past but.. thats the name of the game. i enjoyed being able to complement others in the discussion thread, find out ways to improve my own and ask where they learned different techniques. just my 2 cents.

i think the votes need to be PMed because this is a bit ridiculous. everyone is just voting for the same car. IMO there should be no way one car is owning this much when there are such a large amount of top notch chops.

btw, i'm not trying to say that car #1 isn't good, its just that there are alot of good chops this month. i thought it would be alot closer

i like this system how we have entry numbers and not by name. and if we voted by sending pm's that would be cool but it would be too much for nismo there... haha

I agree with lam-boy. It may be too much for nismo to tally all the votes in his pm's on top of all his other responsibilities, but it would be just as fair as the trial system we used this month. I doubt people "follow the lead" when voting, if anything I'd vote for one less popular

I liked this months method better than the original, but I do miss the comments thread. Maybe we'll just have to get used to the fact that we CAN talk about the chops.....but just have to be careful about revealing yourself.

How would it be any different?
Shame on anyone that goes around telling people their chop is #x, you take away the fun if you do that, and wheres the point? Wouldn't a real chopper rather people vote on their actual preference, not just what their friend did. I know I'd rather have some respect among the beyond chopping community rather than a prize.....unless it was a million dollars or something.....then I'd have to give in
