    Default MRD-M500 & 2 Orion,DVC,2ohm,10"

i need a little help with the wireing and setup of my new system. i currently have the MRD-M500 Alpine amp and i have no clue how to setup the subs or the amp. the orion subs are 600RMS 2ohm 10" dual voice coil. i have 2 of them and i want to wire them to the m500 mono at 2ohm. any ideas on how i should wire the subs or how i should setup the amp so that they are powered the right way?

For Maximum Power transfer, your load impedance should ideally be equal to your amps mininum allowable.

With 2 DVC subs @ 2 0hms, you could wire the VCs of each sub in parallel. This would net you a total impedance of 1 ohm each. You then wire each unit in series, which will give you 2 ohms, equal to your amp.

Running a load with an ohm value less than the amps min. will likely result in distortion and clipping (hard on the amp, also)

Running a load wth an ohm value larger than the amps min. is OK, but you will not be able to transfer the maximum power your amp in capable of.

and if anyone knows the MRD-M500, could you explain what settings i should load on it for the best and loudest sound. or near it

For the parallel connections of the VCs (do this on both subs)

Wire the + of one to the + of the other.
Wire the - of one to the - of the other.

For the series connections of the two subs:

Wire the + of the amp to one of the positive "strings" of one sub. Wire the - of that sub to the positive of the other sub. Now wire the - of the that sub back to your - on the amp.

Sorry, I know nothing about the amp. You should be able to find a manual online if you dont have one.
