Question about ownership renew
Dear everyone:
I have a question, I bought a second hand car, and I have the ownership that have not change to my name yet.
then I forgot to take off the ownership from my pant, when I was washing my clothes in the washing machine. When I discover, it was too late, the ownership was gone.
and the owner who already left canada , back to her hometown, may not come back....Therefore, in this situation, what can I do?
anyone have this experience can tell me how to do?
thank you for you help

You could sign a bill of sale with a buddy and "buy" the car off of him.
Not the most ethical thing to do though.

not sure if that will work in ontario, maybe try to get a hold of the girl and have her fax or mail you a copy of hers.

Do you have any other proof of the car being sold to you (like a bill of sale)? If not, you will have to get the person you bought it from fax or mail you a signed bill of sale. Registries will NOT change ownership on a car without proof.
I'm guessing she signed the back of her registration right?

Yup, I am sure that she signed the back of her registration and gave the licence plate back to Registries before she left Canada.
I paid by money order, so I think it might have a record from my bank account. But, I am not sure that can prove that was for the car sell or not.
thank you for everybody good idea and good help,
