Default integra GS vs Golf GLS

lined it up this morning at a light with a coworker in a Golf GLS, I think I launched a bit too high, a bit more wheel spin for me, but we were somewhat even in 1st gear.. then 2nd gear his Turbo kicked in and handed my rear end to me... Damn I want that TURBO!!!!!

If it were the 4 cyl 150 HP engine, you should have kept up pretty close to it...but since its only the third time you've launched it, maybe you just need a few lessons..

I've heard that VW is putting out a newer turbo model with 180HP, this was a while ago so im sure they are out, this could be one of them?

nope it was the 150HP Turbo, yea once that thing went at 2nd gear, it just go. But I guess if the race was a bit longer I might have kept up... it was a half a block thing ('cause our parking lot was half a block from the light)

VW was in the habit of under-rating their older 1.8T motors. The 180hp was much closer to the mark, even for the old models supposedly only putting 150hp.

    Very true.

I ran a friend once when he borrowed a turbo Beetle. Kept up good until 130km/h or so, then he slowly pulled away.

Never mind what it would have done to VR6 sales...
