    Default 5.0 vs 2004 M3

    how much money do u gotta put into a 87-93 GT 5.0L mustang to take out a 2004 BMW M3

    just wondering cause some fag thinks M3 is like an unbeatable car...not really but u know wat i mean
    this is a 2002 M3 (dunno if much changed)

    0-60: 5.1
    1/4 Mile: 13.7
    1/4 Speed: 104

    so tell me ur opinions??

    I plan on running mid 13's as soon as i get my heads and cam installed. So if you take my car for example, i bought it for $9000 have put $3000 into it and run 14.6 in calgary. AFR heads+cam+TB+MAF+injectors+Rockers = $3000... I should be mid 13's. Keep in mind i will be running 13's in calgary which would be low 13 maybe 12's at sea level. You could also put a supercharger on a stock 5.0 ($5500) and run in the 13's.... I dont even want to know how much a brand new M3 costs

    So to answer your question.... about $6000

    mustang and a 2004 M3............u will need alot of work.....i mean if u are doing track......M3's are just like...well...they are dumby proof.....u just cant mess up with those cars.....throw anything at it and the comuter will just short it out and get u out of it....turne off all that shit...and then u can play around...and u still have this car that just sticks to the ground...soo if u are running track ....need allot of work.....as for like 1/4.....Uummmm get as much power as u can....i mean M3's are running midd 300hp sooo ....shorten this...u need alot of work...leave it at that

    i beleive toma netted a 13.7 here with exhaust and intake when he had a 5.0L, but he's got madd driving skillz.

    so......all i need is a supercharger

    Honestly .. even you do so much on a Mustang .. is still a mustang ...

    Put it this way ... a sport bike can out-run an Viper .. easy !

    So ? what is the point ?

    I dont' mean offence, but why does someone drive an $85K car, races with a Mustang ?

    Same story, I could ask : how can an M3 out-run an Lambo or Ferrari ?

    Agree with MIWYFSHOT, compare an C32 or C55 to M3, make sense. not a stang to M3, not an M3 to a 575M.

    i know, thats what this one guy is saying, that its still a "mustang" and thats an all mighty M3 , but all i wanno know is how much much i gotta put into a mustang to beat a m3 in 1/4 mile

    i just want to know so i could prove this fag wrong....i know they dont even compare but i still wanna know

    for 1/4 mile only..........

    i know m3 will kill a stang in anything

    btw: how much would a complete supercharger kit cost for a 5.0?

    There's nothing worse than cocky people. I say build up your car for a fraction of what he paid for his, then embarass him at the track. A 5.0L Mustang has crazy potential - 89Coupe on these boards is dynoing over 400WHP on his.

    I remember seeing and hearing that that the earlier stock 5.0 Mustangs run mid to high 15's here in Calgary, Versus 13's for the M

    I raced one at Racy city last year and beat him by a 10th. (15.6 vs 15.7)


    However, they are very very susseptable to Mods, full exhaust systems and intake modifications yield big gains. Or Supercharge it.

    Like I said above a supercharger for a stock 5.0 is going to cost around $5500 canadian.

    Also I agree with richardchan2002.... just because the guy has loads of money to spend on expensive cars doesnt mean I can't embarass him in my $15,000 mustang. Not all of us can afford expensive cars.

    Sure you could build up a mustang to "embarrass" his m3 on the 1/4 mile,.... but he'll be going down the 1/4 mile in style sitting on his buttery soft leather seats

    and as he's driving home in his m3 and people turn their heads, i don't think the "embarrassment" will last that long...

    think about it this way... with the money spent on an m3, he could own 4 or 5 of the mustangs your planning to build.. but not everybody wants a crude muscle machine that's only good for a straight line

    Some people need to get off the M3's nutsack for about 30 seconds and read the thread. Cocky guy thinks M3 is the best car ever, forum member devising a plan to hand the guy his ass in a 5.0. No one is sayin the 5.0 is a "finer" car. No one is saying the BMW is a POS. WE ALL KNOW THE M3 IS A HIGHLY REFINED, POWERFUL, LUXURIOUS MOTOR CAR. Take a damn midol.

    To answer the original post, I don't see why heads, cam, full exhaust and an intake won't do the job for you. Hell, a 150 shot would probably do it too. Or both.
