    Good seafood?

Not fusion or new age -- traditional, fresh seafood for a couple from BC.

I want good traditional lobster, help me decide where to take her:

    • Cannery Row
    • Catch
    • Chowder House
    • Hooked
    • McQueen's Upstairs

    - Cannery Row (so-so food)
    - Catch (overrated and expensive)
    - Chowder House (casual and unromantic)

Thanks sputnik, I was checking out McQueen's too -- which is upstairs above Cannery Row -- menu looks good, just concerned about quality of seafood for what you pay.

Well, I said f*ck the whole seafood idea -- once I realized I was in the wrong province for lobster -- I refuse to pay $50 for a lobster tail.

Decided on Abruzzo Ristorante -- better be good.

Vintage Chop House would be my pick. Some evenings they have a band in the lounge. So if you go for an 7:30-8:00pm supper you can hang out in the lounge.

Chophouse have anything non-beef? I love it but she doesn't.

    Go to Oceana's.

The food there is great (SEAFOOD), the setting is perfect (CALM QUIET/ CANDLE LIT).

Its just off of 4th and 17th right beside LULULEMON (Close to Lucky's).
I go there for special occasions.
    You'll thank me later

Embarcadero... it's seafood tho.. they have an oyster special everyday that changes

I find Vintage & Chophouse not worth the price and didn't enjoy the food.

Abruzzo is good but Buon Journo (sp?) is better for roughly the same price. I had the same meal there at both places..
Vegetable soup, Scampi dinner size, Clam Linguine, and Rissotto.

Buon Giornio has crappy Italian food and their atmosphere is kinda cheap and tacky... Osteria De La Medici is 100X better.

Vintage has quite a few non-beef options.

LOL, I have made and cancelled reservations FOUR times today!

I am running out of time -- if it was up to me it would be Sushi or Thai but she likes Italian and French - arrgh.

    thanks though.

I asked my wife, who likes Italian, and she suggests Villa Firenze, which is by Edmonton Trail. Try the Portobella mushroom appetizer.

For French, she suggests - La Chaumiere (sp?) near St. Mary's cathedral I think it is on 17th Ave.

Its been a while since we've been to these places, and I don't know if the quality/price has been preserved. Have any other members been to these places recently?
