Heater Core replacement in a 93 Civic

During the last couple of weeks, I've been noticing a decrease in my coolant level and yet I never had a visible leak.

Well today, I noticed that my drivers side floormat was soaked with antifreeze.

Some research seems to indicate that my heater core is leaking. How easy is that to access and replace in a Honda Civic ? I sure hope it won't cost me an arm and a leg.

the heater cire in a a civic is about the most dificult thing to access. you are more than likey gonna have to take out your whole dash just to get to it or if you have rubber arms then im shure you can bend in what ever way to get to it...

its located right beside the fire wall under the glove compartment behind the fan and all the air ducts...

Thanks for the info. It's interesting to hear that the heater core is located on the passenger side since the driver side floormat is the one that's wet.

But either way, I'm not looking forward to this. I'd imagine that i'd cost me at least $500 if I took it to a mechanic.
