Can anyone recommend a good set of brake pads and rotors? I'm pretty set against drilled rotors because of the poor pad life(think cheese grater) but I love the look of slotted rotors. And what pads are good for daily driving?

actually slotted rotors are the guys known to slice pads, drilled ones are just more prone to cracking.
axxis pads
I found a set of AEM big rotors, they are pretty expensive but they are said to fit over stock calipers. Would these improve braking?

the more surface area you have the more material can be used to appy friction to stop your car... if you do get a big brake it the improvement you will see comes form the pads being further out on the rotor using less friction to stop the car as they normaly would on the smaller rotors, the concept behind this is just like using a lever to lift a heavy object
if you trully want a performance rake kit then go for a full big brake conversion with over sized rotors and calipers with multi piston units that can produce far more pressure on the rotor than the normal stock single piston
something like Brembo, Perrin, WillWood, Rotora will be far more beneficial
yes a big brake kit would help a lot, but its pretty expensive. a nice set of pads will make a big difference for a street car. its also more unsprung weight.Originally posted by Weapon_R

make sure u get calipers that work in the cold too.
If you're just looking to do your pads and rotors I'd recommend a set of Brembo slotted rotors with a set of HAWK HPS pads. Its relatively inexpensive but will give you better performance with your braking.
I just got brembo slotted rotors and axxis ultimate pads put in. I would recommend this setup - the difference between the upgraded brakes and stock brakes is night and day.
I run HAWK pads on upgraded rotors and I love them...the only downside...the brake dust...
I run HAWK HP+ and a Blank Brembo Rotor

for a good cheap street set up you could get some powerslot rotors, some EBC green stuff pads, stainles braided lines, and some motul fluid. you'll brake like a champ

I've been looking for some brembo rotors for my car for a while now, and I can't get any unless I order on-line.Originally posted by CycloneAWD

Go mine through Tunerworks. Talk to Rob, he should be able to help you out.
Rob at Tunerworks can get them, but I got mine from MOPAC...I didnt know Tunerworks carried HAWK at the time...Otherwise Rob would have had my money in his register.

if a set up like brembo rotor(slotted/drilled) with some decent pad. how much should i looking for??
For Rent: 1000 sq apartment located in Downtown. available immediately. Pls PM me for further detail

i just put on some Hawk pads on mopar rotors and wow what a difference. I doubt that having the rotors slotted/drilled will affect much if anything on a daily driven car, other than possibly give you longer stopping distance since there's less friction area.
PBR/Axxis Metalmaster pads are my only upgrade. They're great for the street and drag, but I'm not sure how they hold up during an autocross session. Not much dust and I've yet to experience any fade with them (as opposed to the stock organic pads). I would definitely recommend them as an economical upgrade. You can get them at Canadian Tire/Partsource.
With some high end pads, you have to heat them up before they work at they're peak effectiveness. Not practical for most drivers IMO.
