    Default PC freezes in games!!!

    ok well I haven't done anythign to my compute rin months. nothign really changed. Anyways it's freezing during NBA live 2004 now.

    So I figured it's time for a re format and install everything all over.

    I do so, format teh HD, reinstall XP and everything and the game. still frezing......


    I'm thinking the memmory in teh video car di spooched or somethign like that. IS tha tpossible? It never freezing anywhere else.

    Is you computer freezing or shutting down? What kind of system are you running? How much ram, vid card etc... Help us diagnose the problem.

    its probably the game, check the developers site for any updates or patches.

    check for patches, load all your Windows updates, check to see that you have your latest video card drivers

    AMD xp 1800+ 768MB ddr pc2100 ram. Geforce 4 ti4200

    windows xp. The compute ris not shuttin down, just frezzing.

    Its not the game, I've had it fro over a year. havne' t played a ni few months....

    I diconnected my vid car, and ran it off the on board, no luck.

    Tried remove my DImm's and running the computer 1 at a time.

    tried everything.

    haqve you playe dit before in xp? or in a diff os?

    Just a thought but it might be your power supply. My computer was doing wierd stuff and I was going nuts trying to figure it out. I finally took it in to Memory Express and they ran a bunch of tests and finally came up with a power failure. Bought a new power supply and it has been humming along just fine since.

    taking it in is for pussies.....

    figure it out yourself, you will feel better once it's fixed.

    Telling us your system specs doesn't help unless you tell us the model and manuf. of the mboard, ram, etc.

    did you check the fan on the video card?
    those tiny little bastard fans always fail

    other then that, we need more info.

    CPU?
    mainboard chipset?
    Video chipset?

    This caused my comp to lock up, card was overheating. (GeForce3 TI) Happened whenever I played games or watched moves (videocard intensive)

    After a while it would just do it in any process on my computer as it became more and more damaged from heatsoak.

    wouldnt be the powersupply, thats usually the fact if your system restarts.

    i would run a defrag and scandisk, and reinstall the game.

    yea well it someties restarts. I don't know about the fan, cause the games won't work even if I unistal teh vid card and run on teh on board vid card.

    I re foromatted the computer and reinstalled the game......

    any more ideas? it runs perfect unelss I'm playing games.
