    hmmm, thats what I'm talking about...My car has power nothing...why bother with all the power locks and all that junk. As long as I can get it so it goes off if the car is hit, if the doors are opened (its a 2 door) and the trunk or hood are opened.

    Hey Benny, whatever alarm you DO buy, just install it yourself. The basic ones i.e. no locks, pwr. trunk, no remote starter are fairly simple to install if you follow the instructions, especially in your car

    The only thing to consider is that if you accidentally fry something your up the creek without a paddle and there's not many tech shops that fix alarms if any trust me from expierience, where as for the $170 bux you got warranty if something get's fried.

    Dude it's a VolksWagon...electrical nightmare....

    Get it profesionally installed, warrenty is everything when you gots a VW.

    Come see me at impressions i can get you a good deal. I suggjest not getting the ms850 i used to sell them with the other guys and it is the worst P.O.S i have ever installed , and i think they sold for like $80 new off the shelf. If you do buy it you are looking at about $70 to install it. Or a new quality alarm for $169 installed . let me know.

    Dude, its a MK1 (1984) Jetta GLI.... Not much elcectrical/wiring as you would think...

    just an FYI guys, if you do get say a DEI alarm, clifford,viper and whatever else they sell too if you install yourself you will void your lifetime dei warrenty.
