I think it's the opposite imo.

My D60 is black and I love it. I cringed when I saw that the 300D bodies were silver...bad move on canon's part in my opinion...though they are hugely trying to market the D-rebel to the 'pro-sumer' market rather then to strictly to professionals so it makes sense...most of the other consumer cameras are silver, so this one kinda bridges the gap

All black would have been my preferred choice.

On another note, can't wait to check out a buddy's 1D Mark II when it shows up...

BLACK is so so so so much nicer !

the reason I didn't buy the 300D .. is because it is the bad colour silver !
in fact, the day I went to pick up my 300D kits (when the price down to 1299) is the date the D70 arrived, I wanted the 300D more, since I can use my Canon gear, but .. the only reason I didn't get the 300D is the colour ! ( if I didn't see the black Jap version, I may not hate the silver one )

I am sure all your 300D owner agree that .. I don't mind the silver colour, however, when compare to the black .. and .. somehow ..silver is always the "lower-end" colour from Canon ..

Another problem is .. howcome Japanese always keep their best stuff away from north american ? the jap version 300D is black, and with USM, and MADE IN JAPAN ... sigh ..

All the cars, ( look at civic here, what a joke ! ) camera, computer, electronic ...

Why don't they import the good stuffs for us ??

I actually use a Canon D60, not a 10D...are you asking the price of the camera or the lens? When I bought the camera it was $4700 with my first lens. The L series lens you saw me with was $2700

I am now torn between the 70-200 and the 16-35 as being my favorite lens.

My favorite lens is still the 50mm USM f/1.4 however the 70-200mm f/2.0 is GREAT for event photography.

That is the lens I use most of the time on my camera. Very good one as well, great quality Still, there's not much you can do with it but point, focus and shoot.

    I can't imagine how much a 70-200mm f/2.0 would cost

I'm currently deciding between the 16-35mm f/2.8 or the 17-40mm f/4. I'm starting to lean towards the 17-40mm because the lower cost. I haven't earned enough money yet to justify the 16-35mm.

but can you afford the 16-35?

buy the best stuff you can afford. The extra stop is SO worth it. I wouldn't bother with the 17-40 f4 as the kit lens is pretty close to that. The kit lens is also pretty sharp (not as sharp as an L).

I realize that at 55, it is an f5.6.

Personally, I would feel a little ripped off even for the lower price of the f4.

Oh man .. come on .. How come .. I have been using Canon for 10 yrs, just switch to Nikon ( not really switch, but I probaby should sell all my Canon gears) and now you guys all talk about Canon ?

    I don't think there is a 70-200 F 2.0L from Canon ? probaby 2.8 ?
70-200 F4L is also nice, good value too ! 17-40 F4.0L is best for the buck too !

    A 17-40 F 4.0L, a 24-70 F2.8, a 50mm F1.4, and a 70-200 F2.8 will be perfect combo ! ( good to hv a Macro too ! )

By the way, anyone tried Canon DO lenses ?

    Nikon 200mm F2.0 VR will be my dream lens ... ( with 1.7x teleconverter ) .. but .. how can I affford one ?

Canon has the best lens' for sure. Canon IS is leaps and bounds ahead of Nikon VR. I've used both and it's obvious.
