    Default Right Hand Drive?

If you imported a RHD car from Japan would it be legal to drive here?

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no.

the farthest you could get it is the states. there would be absolutly no way you could register it in canada.

so if you have an american address you could register it and drive it in canada as long as you never get pulled over.

long and short, no dude. i know its shitty!

Edit: BTW i know this because i had a friend try and bring some jdm gold over.

that skyline is also 15 years old, therefore making it legal. the
car has to be a minimum of 15 years old to be legal.

I learned that one from a customs officer

I was tryin to say the same thing, and I've seen some british cars rolling around.

But if it is legal it's still stupid to try, left turns are dangerous enough when there's an SUV in the opposite turning lane, now imagine that situation in a right hand drive car, chances of you getting smoked go up big time, plus there won't be an empty seat to take the full impact.

Actually you can drive a newer right hand drive car here, but its a long process I hear and you must get all the VIN numbers registered and such

its perfectly legal, u just need to jump through the right hoops, usually your customs broker does almost everything for you.

i do believe it's legal . . . when i was rollin out of irev in vancouver, there were a couple of skylines, r33s and a r34 driving out in front of me . . . as we were leaving the parking lot, there were a couple of cops there just keeping watch i guess and i didn't see them pull anyone over for having right hand drive . . .

all cars are rhd over here (which is good because pretty much everyone here drives rice anyway)

I wouldn't mind having one of those hilariously huge caddilacs, except that you can't actually drive it anywhere because all the parking spaces/ streets are too small

RHD isn't illegal, importing an original non complying car is prohibited by CCRA. The following is RC4140, which is the law governing imports of veichles from the US and from foriegn countries.

I've heard there's some BCNR33 and BNR34's in Van City, and I'm damn curious as how they got it through customs. You can take them through as non-legal road cars, or as personal posessions, or as tempoary entry pieces.
