And there's rumors of google's Gmail accounts to be 1GB in size? Apparently it's still in the testing phase...

Microsoft and Google are trying to put eachother out of business.

g mail accounts are already out.. they're giving some 3 at a time.. people are asking for them left right and center.. don't see the big deal in them but so many people want one.
I have a gmail account. Its pretty cool. I will post if I have any invites to give out.
I'd be interested in one when you have invites..
all gmail needs now is an instant messeger service.

and that shit is free?
Technically free. You pay by viewing ads. It's still in beta, so one has to be invited to test it right now.

How do I sign up? When can I get a Gmail account?
We're currently only offering Gmail as part of a preview release and limited test. We don't have details on when Gmail will be made more widely available, as that depends in part on the results of the test. If you're interested in receiving updates on Gmail, submit your email address using the form at the bottom of this page. And you can check out a sneak peek of Gmail here.
