I have a Nissan Pathfinder that won't start after sitting in the hot sun. I have replaced the starter and the relay between the battery and the starter, still have the same problem. Battery is relatively new and in good condition. Radio, lights etc.... all work, just won't start after sitting for awhile on hot days. Usually have to come back in the evening to be able to start the car. Any suggestions............. More info as requested. When trying to start after being out in sun, car makes no noise, completely silent. Acts completely dead, except the radio still works, lights (headlight and dome) still work, the car door open indicator tone works, just won't start. Used to make a clicking noise when trying to start it, but after having the starter replaced it no longer makes that noise. If I drive it on a hot day for awhile and then shut it off while filling up with gas or something of that nature, it won't restart. I originally assumed it had to be something mechanical and not electrical. That's why we replaced the relay switch. It sits close to the hood and might expand and contract with heat, causing the contacts to maybe miss or not align. that didn't help either. Car always starts in the morning in the garage or if it sits in a shady area. Makes it tough to plan all of your trips around finding a shady area to park, especially in Phoenix.
