Last summer it was really really wet. I got stuck in some of the worst rain I've ever seen.

All in all, its still worth it though.

If you're really a "kid" then maybe u should get something a little tamer than the R1
Why drive a cage when u can ride a bike?

I rode to work downtown today! Maybe this summer wasn't that great, but there's definitely alot of nice days year round to get out for a ride. I was fortunate enough to ride nine months out of this year. Gotta love cowtown!

Good thing about riding downtown is there are free parking areas for motorbikes.

This last summer I rode in the city almost every day. Went out on mountain rides every week-end. Most pople have parked their bikes about a month ago, but I just took mine out a couple days ago. As long as the roads are dry and the temperature is not below -5, I take her out. Just gotta dress up as if you were going snowboarding and gotta take it easy on the turns.

As for insurance, if you are gonna get full coverage, on an R1 it will cost you an arm and a leg since you're young! I'd say try out an R6 first. I have a gixxer 1k and thinking about going towards an R6 too. Smaller bike and just as fast really.
