July 17, 2004 - Race City - V8less Challenge

As promised,

V8less presents as part of the SCC Tour, V8less Challenge. An all import/SCC event at Race City.

July 17

3pm Competitors/crew
5pm Specatators

Racing/Show until 1am!

Things you will see at V8less Challenge
- The hottest show cars from Western Canada
- The fastest Imports and Sport Compact racing on the quarter mile
- The best autocrossers

And for the first time in Alberta - a drifting competition!

No pre-registration required, just show up at 3pm at Race City, tell us what you want to race, show, autocross or all of them! Everyone is welcome - including beginners to racing and amateur show cars.

Enter your club as a team for the Challenge Cup and other team prizes including team represent, team show and team race.

Drifting competition feature the best local drivers by invite only including drivers from beyond.ca, Tunerworks, and the Calgary Sports Car Club.


Race - $40 per Vehicle (includes driver)
Race and Autocross $55 (includes driver)
Show only - $25 per Vehicle (includes driver)

Autocross is "Fun Runs" only. Next year we will incorporate it into trophies and the Challenge Cup.



Things you won't see at V8less Challenge:

- V8's! because this is an Import/SCC event only!

ok So i was just reading the rules and regs and need a bit of clarification,..... actually details. I'll highlight the part I need details on.


"Sport Compact Class
The Sport Compact class is open to vehicles with less than 8 cylinders. 6 cylinder engines must be an overhead cam (OHC) configuration. All competition vehicles in Sport Compact class are limited to a single power adder and must race on tires of radial construction. Multiple power adder vehicles, that otherwise meet these class specifications will be placed into the Outlaw class. Sport Compact class vehicles must have full interiors—No striped race vehicles. Sport Compact class competitors must meet the General Competition Eligibility requirements. No pre-registration before the event is required for competitors in the Sport Compact class. Competitors are only required to register at the event."

I want to go do the quarter mile. Any details on autocrossing? is it a timed event? the $40 for race will include autocrossing right?

Is beyond setting up a team to compete at the event? maybe I can help with my 17sec Accord..haha
