F.S. 1993 probe gt. Anybody looking for a good motor swap project....Meet your new car! The Probe is in really good shape despite needing some engine work--or more specifically-- the timing belt tensioner went on it along with the belt. If someone wants a good looking fixer upper I'm sure you can have a whole j-spec japanese engine from JDM engines here in Calgary for no more than $2000 installed with tranny. The car is metallic red on black cloth int. everything inside is really clean and well kept. This car must sell soon so contact Ryan @ 299-1441 daytime or 860-2771/398-9042 evening. REMEMBER $1500 O.B.O. I just brought the price down because I got a crappy paycheque and need to get rid of the car quick.

do these cars have interference? would it be ok to put a new belt and tensioner on it and just drive the thing?

Sorry about the wait for the pics guys....

As for the other concerns I don't really know if the engine encountered any other problems when the tensioner went. My mechanic was not to certain either without pulling apart everything but he said things were optimistic based on the look and sound of manually turning the crank. However I still caution those interested that it may be something of a project for say a KLZE j-spec engine swap from JDM engines in Calgary. other than that just look at the pic and judge for yourself...I believe it's a damn fine price for current state. No it does not run. The price is very reflective of the current state of the motor but it really is intended for those who want a project car

The mechanic had said about $800-1000 providing there was no interference underneath but a new engine from JDM in Calgary sells the j-spec version for around $2000 installed so the price for a low km car would be great.
