Thought of Nintendo Duck hunt right away with the dog and duck toy lol

Finally got a hot tub. Started looking last spring and prices were high with no discounts or even stock and the stores were trashing the comp hard so we were beyond confused. The World of spas had an 8 person that we loved but the salebro said the dumbest thing ever, i asked the warranty on that tub and he said 1 year on everything($20k tub) so i asked why so low because the norm is around 3-5years parts and 5+ on the shell and he said "His tubs are built so well they never fail and thats why they only need a 1 year warranty" Started looking again this last week and stocks way better but the price on the one we wanted also went up $1000 with no discount so we went to a few more. We stopped into Revolution spas and it was a smaller family owned store and we talked with the owner and manager and they sounded pretty sincere so we made a deal. Now the fun part of cutting a 8ftx8ft hole in my deck and hopefully i can keep the water clean.

Pretty sure any sharpen stays sharp for a decent long time unless you're a NHLer. I think I was a good 3-4 hours of skating in before I said fuck it and had them fix it and resharpen to a proper radius. Only exception is ODR, that ice fucks up skates quick!

There's nothing magical about a sharpening person. It ain't Hattori Hanzo lol. It's pretty basic stuff. The level of edge is just dictated by your radius of choice.
I disagree, depends on who and where you take it, there is a HUGE difference between sharpens. Not that I know why. lol

Nice tub, I’ve gotten quite good at getting the water under control. The days of 5000-7000 tubs are gone. Haha.

Advice from someone with the biggest lemon of a tub ever produced by Arctic spa… make sure you still have full access to the side of the tub that has the control board, wherever you end up putting it

Just use bromine. Test your ph and bromine levels regularly. Don't let them sell you any other water treatment stuff, it's a waste of money and every additional thing you dump in makes the water harder to balance.

    I'm with you.
I agree virtually anyone can learn how to do it competently in a reasonable amount of time. But like anything, the ones who are truly skilled in the top 5% are remarkably better.
For years, I got mine done by a former Oilers trainer named Kirby and he was substantially better.

So it's a fancy piece of shit? Like is this the 60's when the name Cadillac meant something?

And then he said he'd rig a draw so we'd get a free massage chair. You know, the same one they offer with every purchase, and can be found on Kijiji, always.

I still feel like it's a psychological factor. That said, I'm a shitty skater lol.

Wow, that's weird. Since my friend moved into one of those Lake Community/Beach Club things I've been super enjoying hitting the ice with our families. It's way more fun than I thought it would be.

It is indeed weird, but I do not know how to skate and constantly make excuses for not doing so.

Didn't spend much time in Canada as a kid.

Thanks. Im sure the prices have come down a bit on kijiji but even used tubs were well over 10k for anything decent last year.

Been watching YT for tips and it gets overwhelming but yeah ill look into bromine. Where do you guys drain your tubs? i back onto the ravine and was thinking of draining it into the bushes but i also dont want to kill all of the greenery with the chemicals. Its also probably illegal

They offered us the massage chair too if we bought that day lol There was a sign on it showing a stupid price of $7000 if i recall right.

Yeah, I recall that but also recall you mentioning the difficulty of tying and untying kids' skates.
It's fairly easy to learn skating on a basic level, but actually maybe as I say that, it's prolly pretty difficult for an adult who actually gets hurt after falling down.

Do not encourage old dudes to skate unless you are hoping to give them CTE.

Me neither.. I'm not much of a real Canadian. Born and raised here, but never had the Canadian mentality of having to know how to skate.

    All things hot tub: https://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/i...tubs-amp-spas/
    All things water chemistry: https://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/i...ter-chemistry/

I use a submersible pump and either drain it into my bar sink just inside the door with garden hose, or if using the faster larger diameter hose I go into the floor drain in the basement.
My neighbour drains his pool into the swale (very illegal) I wouldn't risk the fine myself.
I might be tempted to use the ravine. I wouldn't think the chemicals would be that bad as to kill the vegetation.
Seems to me the repair guys once drained mine into the back yard. No issues.

I have drained onto the grass at my lake house before ( off the property ) and it never killed anything.

The chlorine flashes off pretty quickly.

The solution to pollution is dilution. Just add water.
