Don't cruise. You're either sick or your room floods. Also, old people.

Yeah I have little desire to go on a cruise. Perhaps with the exception of something like Crystal, my parents have done a couple of those and said they’re pretty amazing. But theyre v expensive and, as mentioned, full of geriatrics.
My parents just did a Viking around the cape of South America and raved about it. Booked 2 more before leaving the boat.
I like pure relaxation trips. Cruise seems like it could check a lot of boxes for me sometimes though I’ve never tried it.
Plus I like boats.

I have never slept better then when I was on a cruise.
Walking back on land is wonky.
Cruise was boring overall, there is nothing to do at night aside from hanging out with the old people at the casino, and they had an extremely strict schedule.
The boat WILL leave you if you're not back.
Will revisit when I'm 70.

I've been on many cruises and never had the pleasure, but I know many who have. Not fun. And way more common than most people realize.
Celebrity is Adults only is that correct? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I am trying to figure out a family cruise to Alaska and I have never been in one.
Did you book direct ?
Not correct, probably 10 kids on our cruise and VERY well behaved. Zero teens. Average age prob 65-75, I looked amazing on deck in comparison even after 2 weeks of stuffing my face silly haha. You can make cruising as financially sound as you want. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We did book through the site as wife has been cruising since she was 7 and has built up some Celebrity points. Booking tours through the ship AKA on the site is very favorable if cancelations occur for any reason (like happened to us this time).
I'm thinking we may need a cruise mega thread so I can elaborate but don't hesitate to PM me for more info.

Just did this to help un-thread crap - https://forums.beyond.ca/threads/418...51#post5172151. Not mega...yetThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Allergy season kicking off - love it that it's not a 300$ filter now
Do these actually work? Like do you see a noticeable symptom reduction by using them vs just a proper allergy pill? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yep, Still need allergy pill but the suffering is greatly reduced, especially in the overnight - when the pills are wearing off. We really suffer at certain times of the year, these take down a large part of the suffering when the pollen flies. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
the KCA01 filter's awesome - live tracking of particulate, ramps up/down as needed (when cooking, doors open etc) - the smaller one is dumb, but keeps the 'funk' in the kids bedroom down.
I picked up this beauty for $900 last night. It's for a 3 hour derby. Automatic, but only the first 3 gears work. The seller drove it here from Airdrie, so it's somewhat reliable lol. My Subaru Justy engine bit the dust last year in the event, but won it the previous year. https://youtu.be/nwcuHVINDSU?si=Uu0alSclk0WL0W6T
We'll be giving it giant shark fins (paper mache), etc as each car needs a theme. In 'shark week' spirit, there will be at least one tampon dangling off one of the fins.
If you need any shark do-dads 3D printed for accents I can supply. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I appreciate that. I ordered a 24 pack of misc sea creature figures to glue everywhere. If I can think of any 3D printed accessories I’ll holler!
Someone posts a pic of a 2-tone car and of course @SJW pops right in with the first comment. That guy knows.

Was going to get a Niu, but this new scooter checks all the boxes.

Regarding cruises - do a crossing with Cunard on Queen Mary 2. I've been on a few cruises, 4 total including the one crossing trip from the UK to NYC we signed up for on a whim instead of flying back from England. Fantastic time, but we like "British" things. The planetarium/theater was great, several showings per day, one show was really interesting showing how ships navigate(d) using the stars and a good watch (time), and the symphony they had on board as well as the other music acts were fantastic. The dining and other food options were excellent. The pools are great, they had 4 or 5 IIRC, and while the main pools didn't allow kids under a certain age, they had a dedicated kids pool for very young children, and kids around 4/5 or whatever to 16 could go in the other pools with an adult - so those of you doomed with children could always have swim options.
The Queen Mary 2 isn't as huge as some of the monsters on the sea, but it's still pretty big, and had a ton of interesting features. Lots to see and do. Our crossing had really great weather, but it was during the spring so I'd bet it's very date specific on that score.
Anyhow, great way to spend a week+ instead of the typical cruises I was on (2 of them were work related things long ago, and I swore I'd never get on one again until the missus twisted my arm on the Queen Mary 2 crossing. That I'd repeat again).
