There are two USB-C ports and both are lightning. The same dock successfully sustained my first Lenovo (although it warned me that the wattage was "too low").

Then, that computer shit the bed and was replaced with an identical Lenovo which mysteriously cannot be sustained by the same Dell dock.
I may not understand it, but it makes me confident that AI is not taking over.

Lightning just means thunderbolt and does not mean it can charge.

One of the type-c ports should be labelled with an icon that looks like an electrical cord end which is your connector to charge. If not then check your manual to ensure you are in the one that should be charging correctly.

I have two WD22's and they both run dual 1440 27's with zero issue at all. Dell laptop. I seem to remember something about only two (out of four) of my laptops type C outlets are meant for the power plug/dock.

You could possibly have a faulty unit I'd guess, there's no reason it should be this way.

Isn't his daily still a current-gen (or 1 iteration previous) S3? Wouldn't really consider that an "old" german car (out of warranty german car yes, but old...i think that's a bit of a stretch?)

It’s a 2015 with like a million kms on it (iirc, @flipstah can confirm). So not like OLD old, but well outside warranty haha.

Edit: at some point, older becomes cheaper. My r129 sl500 was way cheaper to own than my 2013 S4.
