Basically on October I fuck with the knobs until I have it dialed in, then once summer hits I shut them all
There is a solenoid down below that used to be wired into a tstat, but it only turns on and off as a single zone so using it causes its own issues. I have found always on and low ish flow rates to be the way to go.

Bought my first robot vacuum from Costco. A shark Not sure the model but it’s from Costco and has the self emptier.it’s so awsome the kids don’t leave stuff out anymore and I have fresh lines in the carpet everyday. My allergies have actually gotten better too. I run out every day, then I bring it to Main floor and let it do a run down there. Best money I have spent in years, I think it was $300 on sale, I’d spend $1000 if I knew it was this good.
Finally got the tub we bought 5 months ago, it was in stock but I was too busy to get around to cutting out my deck and doing the base. Anyone know the difference between a sub panel vs load miser? Had an electrician lined up and I assumed he was getting permits but when I confirmed he said no and if I wanted a permit I would need a load miser which was way more money than his original quote which was the sub panel route i think.
We got one and it was a cool idea but my kids cant keep their shit off the ground and it would constantly get stuck in the kitchen island stool legs. We gave it away to my niece who didnt have kids and she gave it back because her dogs would go buck from from running lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Do you only have a 60amp panel or something? Or is the panel a ridiculously inconvenient routing distance from where the hot tub is?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If neither, you should only need a sub panel, but I'm not an electrician, I just play one on the internet.

Load miser is in addition to subpanel, not an alternative to it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Basically, recent code changes in Calgary have made it so if you have a number of high-amperage circuits installed (hot tub, electric stove, electric dryer, electric car charger, A/C, etc) and their total possible combined draw is a certain % of your main panel service, the City requires you install a device call a load-miser that will switch off some of those circuits if draw gets too high.
The hot tub would likely be put on a GFCI sub-panel for shutoff access anyway, the load miser gets added to your main panel.
Seriously? Isn't that supposed to be a PART of the load calculation for panel installations, or does this allow more than what the old load calculation would have because of the miser? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

@mr2mike maybe you need one of these for your place?

I think it's integrated into the calculations now, and allows one to install more load than you'd typically be allowed for a given service. I'm not sure if the load calcs were revised to be made more conservative at the same time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I can't speak definitively but I believe that adding a major load that puts your load calc over 80% of service rating is what triggers the load-miser requirement.
This PDF is from Ontario but does a good job of describing how the load calcs work in the current CEC. I ran ours just for fun and we're a whisker under 80% - anything more and we'd have to do a service upgrade or load miser.
Edit: found an online calculator that's probably easier than doing it by hand.

I trust most of yours guys advice more than some of the "professionals" tbh Its a 100 amp but i do have an electric stove and AC. Its got lots of room from what i can tell. Hopefully i dont need that miser thing because its not cheap. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I havnt done a hot tub install in years but normally you just add a breaker and spa buddy / disconnect. 300-400 for breaker and spa buddy, wire is very expensive right now so it really depends how close it is. If you need a guy I can hook you up with one.
