Civic AC

My AC has been out for some time now, I was just going to try to trouble shoot it myself, see if I can narrow down the problem.

I don't have much money at all to spend on this. Does anyone have experiece that could lead me in the right direction?

It blows hot air, I think its something wrong (leak) with the high pressure system how can I check that?

Its a 96 civic DX

Most likely has no freon left in the system. That would be what I suspect. You would have to have a pressure test on your A/C system to see if there is any leaks. They can add a dye to the system to determine where the leaks are if any.

My 97 SI developed this problem this summer. I guess Im going to have to get a shop to check it out eventually, but until then I just enjoy the weather with the windows down instead.

Its not the low presure system..(R134) freon

I've refilled that & tested the presure, all good...

How would I check the high pressure system? if the pipes heat up that means its working?


yeah I live in Florida, so "enjoying the weather" only happens during certain times of the day. gets very hot.
