Paris - Dakar now Barcelona - Dakar

The start point of the rally has been moved. It has begun in Paris for the last 3 years but now the stages will commence from Barcelona, Spain.

Interesting move as to changing the start point...cause isn't Africa the area where the drivers get all messed up from bandits and what have you??

Yeah, you really have to watch where you end up in africa. A few years ago a couple of teams were arrested by the libyan army when they crossed the border by accident, and teams have been shaken down by bandits and renegades in some of the less well policed areas of africa before. Keeps things interesting.
