    Unhappy Need Bittorrent help

Whenever I download multiple files using BT (i've tried original client as well as Azereus), my download speed will slowly drop down to zero and climb up again, and somtimes when it drops to 0, my connection/computer will stop responding (i can sometimes manually close programs by right clicking and hitting close, but they don't actually shut down, and i can't open new programs).

I'm on shaw running windows xp with 512mb ram, zone alarm pro and norton antivirus.

    Anybody help??

I'm running Bit Tornado, and never have an issue with multiple downloads.

bit tornado is wayyyy better than bit torrent... changing the default ports helps as well, speeds things up as SP's limit the default BT ports

Clean out your temp internet files -- that problem used to happen all the time with the vanilla BT client.

Like these guys, I use Bit Tornado -- far superior.

if you've got ZA 5.0 then you need to uninstall ZA5.0 and reinstall ZA 4.5

azereus doesn't like ZA 5.0...it apparently causes LOTS of problems.

Are there any special features on bit tornado that make it better than azereus?

The only downside of Azeurus is it's Java based.

Default Also in need of bittorrent help

Hi guys. I use BitTornado. I am quite new with this software.

Since you guys use this program, I assume many of you are familiar with the "yellow light" in the top right hand corner.

It says that it means I under some sort of firewall or something. I have windows XP, and looked into the firewall that comes with it. It says that it is not enabled. I don't know how to check for any ISP firewalls, and do not know if I have a proxy or router. This is my home ISP, and I have satallite internet. I am told it is just as fast as cable/DSL, but I know some people who DL using bittorrent, and they get speeds like 500kb/s whereas I get a lousy 5-10 kb/s (usually lower).

If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it!!

You don't know if you have a router? What is your PC connected to?

The Yellow light usually means you have to open ports for BT to work fast.

just means that the torrent that you are trying to access doesn't exist anymore... at least that is what I chalk it up to meaning
