88 celica, wats its hp and performance

i got a 88 celica, sx or sumfin, front wheel drive, non turbo, 140,000km, extractors, 2.5 inch full exhaust with twin tip sport muffler, light flywheel, aftermarket clutch, drilled front brake rotors.

I just bought the car and was wondering if anyone knows wat sort of hp this would put out, rough qaurt mile time and 0-60.
How good would it compare to other cars, eg.. civics, integras, ....

i havnt had the time to check these thing out, like at the drags.. so it would be great if someone could let me know.

I'm guessing mid 16 seconds 1/4 mile, 130hp, Weight is a big deal for you, shed some ELL BEE's As for going against civics, i'm pretty sure you can beat latino heat... hey, what ever happened to that car? i don't see it anymore.

I was driving my sisters 86 GT-S all week and i got back in my stock integra and i found it to be fast. but her celica is stock aswell.


my reccomendation is that if your shifter is as huge in perth as they are here....chop that thing down or get a short shifter because it took way to long to shift in that car

Stock hp for a 3S-GE is 135hp@6000rpms, 125ft/lbs at 4500rpms....now with all the "mods" you have I am guessing about 140hp give or take a few. Anymore Q's please don't be hesitant to pm me!

86-89 celicas you definitely DO NOT want the ST or GT models. ST has a godawful little motor in it and the GT has the 3SFE (122hp).

The only model that comes with the 137 horsepower motor (3SGE) is the GT-S, but make sure it's actually a GTS and not someone who slapped a badge on the back.

As far as racing them, you'll be able to kill most comparable 4 cyl stock imports, they have a surprising amount of pickup for such a small car, and a very wide power band. They top out at about 200km/hr on flat highway.
