Default What synthetic oil do you use in your bike?

I'm changing my Firestorm from dino to synthetic this fall, and I'm wondering what the most popular brands of synthetic oil are in the group, so what brand/viscocity of oil are you running in your ride?

Motul 5100.. I've been using it for 10 years now and I've never had a mechanical failure in any of my bikes. Good stuff!

You should use a MOTORCYCLE SPECIFIC synthetic oil.
Regular car synthetic oils have friction modifiers which can make the clutch slip.

I've got 5000km on this bike. The bike has been parked for a season because insurance became outrageously expensive. The bike had its breakin change at 1000km (as recommended by Honda) and now that its time for another change I'm looking into synthetic, or at the very least semi-synthetic.

There have to be a thousand articles about synthetic vs dino, or why you should/shouldn't use auto oil or additives in your bike, but I figure the best sources of real world info are other people who ride.

From almost all of the information I've read I'd say additives are a waste of time (for bikes and cars) and the majority of reading I've done suggests that auto oil = motorcycle oil , but then again thats partly why I'm posing the question in the first place. The links in my post are just a couple of the articles I've looked at but they definitely reflect the bulk of information I've read and heard.

go with motul 5100. i used that stuff in my bike and it was wicked...

and no i dont belive auto oil=motorcycle oil, think about the engine speeds between a bike and a car and you will see what i mean.

most car oils are not made to be used with a wet clutch. it will cause it to slip.

i've been using motul for 5 years now and it is great.

true there are thousands of guys that have used car oil and their bikes still run awesome.

most car oils are not made to be used with a wet clutch. it will cause it to slip.
yea that makes sense but empirical evidence says otherwise. I can't still make up my mind.

it all boils down to how much cash u got.
