body work - no painting

I was wondering is it bad to take out the rust fill it and prime it not paint it?

or maybe fill it and don't even prime and don't paint?

just wondering cuz i've been knocking some rust off of my car and you know to paint is pretty costly to fix my dents and holes buying equipment already cost me some fow so you know. was wondering if it's bad or not.

i was thinking to fxing all the rust and filling it. and when i'm done and got enought o paint i'll just sand them down fill a bit more and sand till clean and smooth and prime and paint away.

what you guys thing?

Thats what im doing as we speak i fix and area and then prime it. Once my car it prefect I'm going to do all the prep work and get it painted. Just don fix something and leave bare metal to breath the air make sure you seal it with a primer!

make sure you put on a real good coat of primer tho, if you're gonna let it sit like that for a while,... the water will eventually bleed throught the primer,... hense air can too.

happened to me years ago with a VW,... i primed,...and was gonna paint a month down the road,... well,... rust dots started to show through,.... oh well that car is dead now,.... that was my experience,... please learn from it.

anyone know if places rent out spray guns/compressors if not a good price for them? or the amount of power needed
