Depending on the nature of the emergency, Airlines might give you a break after you buy the ticket. But otherwise, no. Not unless the plane is completely empty.

If your flying because of a death in the family, tickets can be purchased at a discounted price. Not sure if all airlines do this though.
if you are under 25 you can go to the airport and go on stand by.
it's usually alot cheaper if they have seat.
If it is family's death then as long as you can show a copy of the dead certicate you will get discount for all airline.

yah i think if they have room left on the plane just before take off you can buy tickets at discounted rate....... and i think this applies to everyone not just if your under 25... Where did you hear that anyways???
I was at the airport and my friend was over 25 he paid $500 to Van and I only pay $70
stand-by flights in Canada are no longer offered (About a year now)
you wanna fly last minute, pay up
if you want to get a discount book at least 7 days ahead
Air Canada does have websaver rates for last minute travel on weekends thurs-Monday
