    Default Ractive mufflers from Mopac

I'm considering a change from my curent exhaust set up. Right now I have a Dynomax muffler with a 2.5" tip welded on. The muffler makes the exhuast tone very loud but its at a very low rumble and it sometimes can drown out the bass form my subs. I kinda like the sound but it can get too loud and the muffler doesn't really look too apealing and its kinda out dated.

I was in Mopac the other day and saw thier display of Ractive mufflers, the one that couhgt my eye was this kind of style for $150

Does anyone know if it makes the sound similar to the universal fart pipe sound? Has anyone had experience with a ractive muffler?

Let me know what you think or if you have any comments...

    Thanks
    J.

True, not the "best" quality, but they do have a 5 year warranty.
I had one on my Celica, it lasted almost a year....then got a new one under warranty.

It sounds nice on my celica. Not a fart pipe sound, just a deep growl.

I had a ractive DTM muffler on my Probe. It was decent. I straight piped the exhaust system though. It sounded okay, got lots of compliments on it. I'd suggest you shop around still.

i have a Ractive muffler on my car but it isnt a FART can

its a small twin tip, IMO sounds very good, not LOUD but a nice toned sound, at high RPM it give a nice rumble along with the intake

i think mine is one of the better quality Ractive cuz i know there are some bad ones out there, i paid $250 for mine

if it does turn to shit im not worried cuz it does have a warranty

well i havent had it for 6 months yet so i guess i will find out

if mine goes down the shitter i can trade it in for any other muffler worth $250 (should be a trade in for another ractive but i know the owner of the place i bought it from)

im not trying to start anything here cuz i didnt really do any research before i bought my muffler but i know the guy that owns the store i bought mine from and he said the one i bought is newer and built alot better than previous versions is this BS or what??

what is it that makes a ractive muffler a bad muffler, the build / materials / ???

So if ractive isn't of that great quality what would you guys suggest? Keep in mind I'm looking for that N1/fireball style muffler...

    Thanks

save a bit and get a real apex n1
u can get a universal for around 300
or if u want something cheaper get a magnaflow, I've heard a couple and they sound great, better quality than ractive for sure!!

universal apexi, universal 5zigen the quality is not just in the muffler however, make sure its put on by a reputable shop, if they leave splatter marks all over your muffler theyll rust and your muffler will look like ass

I agree. I bought mine as a quick cheap thing, and it's getting swapped out for the APEX'i N1 after winter.

Ractive is not that shitty, even though I don't have a ractive muffler They are pretty simular to the other major brands, they just don't have the name stamped on the side. I've seen big $$ GReddy mufflers and cat-backs crap out and rust off in 6-10 months. You mostly pay for the name........ I am one of those stubburn people, I pay for the name.... But If you want to save money, go w/ a Ractive . They are good quality, and are very simular to the popular name brands, if you compair the 5Zigen fireball to the Ractive fireball almost can't tell the diff, except when you look at the price tag...

I bought a "cobra" from Mopac, never heard of that brand before, anyways, its a generic muffler, it sounds amazing, looks great, flows good. I had my cousin weld the custom pipin and it all cost 250 for everything. Damn cheap. I love it, works great.

Magnaflow would have ben my next bet for a new muffler because I've nothing but good thing about them, but they are about $200 as apposed to the $150 for the ractive. But lie you guys said... you get what you pay for. Does Mopac sell magnaflow?
