Default Starting car after sitting for a year.

About year and a half ago I had to park my car. I was starting fairly regularly with no problems. I then left for holidays and turned my alarm on out of habit. When I got home my car was dead. Assumed my alarm killed my battery. I wasn't going to be driving it anytime soon so I just left it the way it that way. A decision I wish I had never made.

So now a year later I am wanting to get my car back on the road. I got a boost from a friend and it started up right away. I let it run for about 30-45mins, turned it off and tried again and it was dead. Just assuming thats the battery needing to replaced. Not to worried about that.

My main problem is, while I had it running I would rev the engine a bit and tons of white smoke would come out the exhaust. When it was just idling there was a very little bit of smoke comming out.

What are some possible causes for this?

your batt is probably toast. they dont enjoy sitting dead for long.

and the white smoke could just be condensation thats heating up. hopefully itll go away after a bit. if not, then scream really loud and yell at the headgasket.

I'm really hoping its not the head gasket.

Like I said, I'm not worried about the battery. It was the original and was probably due to be replaced fairly soon anyways.

probably a ton of h2o accumulation in your lines and junk, hasn't been started for a long time.

Funny question, but get someone to rev the car for ya and go behind and have a wif...does it smell like coolant? (sweet kinda smell)

no need to, was a bit of a breeze today and it blew the smoke nicely back into the car. heh

Wasn't a sweet smell. Was kinda bad actually.

    I'm really hoping condensation.

That sounds a bit more like what it smelt like.

I think I'm just going to get a mechanic friend stop by and take a peek
