IS is bareboned too..it's just a coupe version...if it wasn't optioned out then it'll be fairly basic...same as sedan..

iirc i, is, and ti all had engines in a slightly different state of tune....115hp, 140hp, and i dont remember about ti.

im pretty sure the 1.9 was in the 96+ 318s, in canada the sedans recieved the single cam 115 hp engine, the coupe the 138hp twin cam

but this is definetly not a quick car in any way

there is a pretty small aftermarket for them, there are some guys making serious power with turbos and s/cs but they have very custom setups

they handle amazing, many ppl say it handles better than a 325/328 cus of the lower weight up front, with suspension upgrades it probably outhandles an m3 (i'd tell you, but i've never driven an m3)

    M42 1.8L 16v '92-95 134hp(rated)

    M44 1.9L 16v '96-98 138hp(rated)

We didn't get the M40 or M43 engines (single cam)

The M42 is an excellent engine, forged crankshaft and rods from the factory. Not much aftermarket available but a custom turbo system could make huge reliable power. Engine is very robust.

Reasons why Drumheller area wouldn't make a good race track venue...

err i duno where everyone pulls this info, but canada NEVER had a 115hp 318i

across the line it was a 1.8L 138HP engine, and 96~ it was 1.9L..

    period
