Default Anyone know anything about propane converted vehicles?

looking at purchasing an old work truck, an 81 chev silverado, with a 6 cylinder (4.1L) converted to propane.
Advantages and disadvantages to propane powered vehicles?

    Any experiences with propane vehicles?

Anything else i should know about?

    thanks guys

Fuel is cheaper, you cant park in underground parkades.

The power will be lacking but I'm sure that doesn't matter in a work truck.

Also, you can't fill it if it gets too cold outside (like around -30). Gas is not cheaper though, propane is quite a bit cheaper (otherwise, why do it? You have less power). It would be better if it was set up as a dual fuel propane/gasoline.

I like propane. Dont think propane is super bad and power robbing. If done right you can get awsome power. I know a guy that has a vega with a 350 on propane and he is doing a 11 sec in the 1/4. Propane has very high octane but it burns faster than gas. I think there is warmers on the converter to help it start easy in the winter and yes the only hasstle is that you cant park in undergruond parkades other than that its good.
