Bowness Football player killed

My heart goes out to the teamates, classmates, family and friends of the bowness football player who died yesterday after slipping into a coma during a routine drill at practice last week. I was heavily involved with the football program at my high school and I dont know what we would have done if the same thing had happened to us.

Rest in piece and for those of you on beyond who knew him, my thoughts are with you

I'm glad that this never happened to any of my players. At least the coach called the ambulance right away. The macho attitude would have been to tell the kid to "suck it up" or "walk it off"

Football is a game, and no one should die plying a game.

ya, that sucked, a lineback had helmet to helmet contact with another player, he got a concusion and went into a coma(i think) and passed away later

Well it wasnt natural causes that he died of, he was killed by something that happened during the drill. Car accidents are still accidents but everyone still says they were 'killed' in a car accident. Not saying that the title shouldnt be changed, just justifying why I typed what I did.

Just read in the paper that the stamps will be dedicating a game to him and everything, nice to see people getting behind something like this. It's just too bad it had to happen at all

That's brutal. When I played HS ball, nothing like this even crossed my mind as possible, probably naive but still this is a one-in-a-million. Nothing would be a better tribute than his remaining teammates to go out and kick ass this season.

yeah i go to bowness...believe me worst day of school ever......almost all the girls that knew him were crying all day. the fucken media is so edgy to get there hands on information that they were offering people 250 dollers to speak! its none of our buissness to say anything if the media wants information then go talk to the principle or the family and if the family dont want to talk then they should stay outta it......... it was a extreamly sad day

Head injuries seem to be more common these days...everyone be careful...this past week at work there were 17 fatal head trauma cases that went through...all seemingly minor in nature.

I work with some of those kids who go to that school, they were pretty upset about it all, hit them pretty hard...that's pretty freaky, i've heard of guys who passed out and stuff, from heat, but never something like this, my heart goes out to those parents

my best friend was his close friend....but he hasnt said much, go figure... the media is retarded, they were at my school (SWC) asking ppl wut they thought of that chick who threw her baby in the garbage....cuz apparently she was enrolled to go to my school...
