    Default Painting Interior

Just had a question if there was paint that you would use to paint the interior?

Is the car gutted or are you painting over interior panels? We used Krylon on my friend's partially gutted Escort..... ended up just fine. If you want to do it pro style than get some good quality vinyl dye for interior trim, but I don't have a clue where you would pick it up.

I am hearing that you should clear coat it. Did you primer the part before painting? I heard that you should more than one coat of clear coat on as well.

Clean the hell out of the panels with some sort of grime remover we use decal remover or Goo-gone at the shop, but goo-gone is real expensive if you are doing the whole interior. I also found liquid sandpaper at home depot. then use good paint not the cheap stuff. But your your best bet is to get it done by a shop 'cause most of us use real vinyl dye it is soaks into the panels. It does not really matter how well you do it if you are not carefull it WILL chip.

yeah, I painted my interior and use a spray paint called SEM. But its important that you clear coat the hell out of it!!! The parts I didnt use as much chipped away. Dont cheap out on the primer and use like lots of coats if you want it to last

i used regular old krylon from revy. they have millions of colors to.

dont bother priming it or clear coating it. i have had my interior done for about a year now and its it wicked shape!

If you don't want it to ever chip, I say vinyl it.
I'm debating whether I should redo my whole interior in vinyl.

I just did the seats in my winter beater!!!! The interior reeked like smoke, so I tore out the front and back seats, and my mom helped me wrap em in black vinyl. Not too bad for my first try.
I'm gonna wrap the door panels and dash soon too.
