17th Ave Bars

I'd like to see what some of your opinions are of the bars on 17th Ave SW. By bars, I mean places like Classic Jacks, Bungalow, Ming, Melrose, etc.

Bungalow + Lucky's is good
Mercury is okay
melrose is fucking sick...it's like eating jail food
ming..i don't like it..but thats just me

I've heard good stuff about "red" or "rbm *right by mcdonalds* or "no name"...apparently its just some red looking building where you can go chill?

Melrose is nasty.

I want to check out "shaken"

lucky is pretty good from my experience!

I like Ming, good atmosphere and usually pretty nice place to sit, and have some drinks. Problem is, the place is usually freakishly busy an pretty expensive.

I love Ming's. The food isn't bad and the atmosphere is cozy. Great place to bring a date/gf for drinks and a snack. And yeah the drinks are expensive but usually they are doubles making the drinks a lot more stiff than other places and hence the pricing. As for my favourite drink there, so girly but so good...is called the "Kahuna Manifesto", make sure you get it in the fish bowl sized cup. Fantastic drink that has 10+ shots of different liquor in it (something around that). mmmmmmmmmm
