    (rear speakers)-->(line level converter)-->(amp)-->(sub)

    line level converter basically makes ur high level (speaker) output turn into low level (RCA) output. so u can plug the rca's straight into the amp, if u don't like tech talk, the line level converter basically is a box taht magically uses the rear speakers to create RCA's u can plug straight into ur amp, hope that helps.

    Or you can buy an amp with line level inputs. By the way this will not sound as good as running RCA's from an after market deck. I did this awhile back before I could buy a nice deck and the bass was delayed causing a discrepancy between my speaks and the sub, it didn't sound all the great but it got the job done. BUY A DECK!!

    turn the bass down on the deck and put the amp all the way up?

    won't sound as sharp as having an aftermarket deck obviously, but it won't sound bad, always depends on how good the stock system is, if hte signal is clear to the rear speakers, then it'll b good, if ur stock system sucks, then it'd b shitty....aftermarket deck wud b the ideal way to go...

    as for the bass control...u'll jus use ur bass control on ur stock deck to control the level of the sub
    and if u want to totally cut out the sub, u fade ur speakers to the front.

    I did this in a 1990 celica. I used the line level converter from the speakers, ran a pair of RCA's to the amp for the sub. I didn't find any delay in the sub, I thought it sounded pretty good. I would go that way as it's a lot cheaper than a new deck and you can keep the factory look of the vehicle. If you want to buy one I still have that one, or just pick one up at your local electronics store.

    I don't even use a LOC. I just run the rear output of the factory head unit right to the RCA inputs of the amp. NOT recomended for factory upgraded stereos.

    The peak output on most OEM heads is only like 2.5V-5V RMS. It has worked every time for me and usually less noise is induced into your system. But i don't recomend doing this unless you know what you are doing.

    my friend has a newer model benz with the upgraded HK stereo which was a mistake cuz it really isn't all that great. is it possible to add a sub to this system since no body in the city will touch his car?? They all say installing an aftermarket system in his car is next to impossible with the wiring... this was the story we got from Soundsaround anyways.

    well ive hooked my sub up to my camry's stock cd/tape system, works better than you'd think, but ive also put together a system in my bro's acura 1.6el, and it doesn't sound great at all, all depends on teh stock deck...

    the benz...well...if u can get access to the wires to ur rear speaker than it isn't impossible to add a sub...

    Where do you run your system remote wire from off of the stock deck?
