WHile you're there, grab a Village Voice newspaper. It'll tell you all the stuff that's happening in NYC, like concerts and stuff.

If you have nothing planned, and are willing to wait in line, go to the TKTS booth in Times Square. They sell half price tickets for shows on the same day. You can get really good seats for relatively cheap, depending on the show.

If you like art, go to the Metropolitan Museum, the Guggenheim, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). I understand it has been temporarily been relocated to Queen's for some renovations, so I don't know if the collection will be completely available for viewing. If you like Monet, they have a large collection.

Go to a Yankee's game. Walk in Central Park (during the day only, of course).

If you’re into art and need a place to chill for an afternoon I suggest The Frick, in my opinion it's one of the best places in the city to relax, and take in some really interesting art. And for shopping I suggest Century 21, it's across the street from where the world trade center stood. It's like Winners, but instead of Exco and Fila, it's all Diesel, Armani, D & G, etc. It's the first and last place i go to shop when i'm in New York.

    5th avenue, baby!

i wonder if the line ups to the empire state building are long at this time of year...
when i was there last year during the summer, we would've had to wait a few hours...

I was disappointed, I always though the statue was bigger, seems that way on TV.

When I went to the WTC in 2000, I thought it'd be taller. Buildings look a lot smaller when you're there in person.

I've heard the opposite about Las Vegas. Everyone says you have to see it in person. Everything looks tiny in the pictures.

Goddamn man, you must have had some big expectations. I was in awe walking around Manhattan. Calgary and it's 40 story buildings are small peanuts. Everything in Manhattan was at least 60 plus.

Yeah good luck. It's the playoffs. Those would be some expensive tickets!! I'm going poor just thinking about them.
