Exclamation my carbon fibre tutorial for you guys!

    CARBON FIBER TUTORIAL

ok guys, this is my tutorial to make cf
lots of steps, but plz folow for best results.

this tutorial was made for adobe photoshop 7.0 By foto_choppa.

feel free to post this on other forums provide youask me first, and give me the credit i deserve.

    click pictures to enlarge.

    step #1
select around your hood with the polygonal lasso tool. once selected-layer via copy.

    step #2
select around the washer jets, then gently smudge them out with a small brush {how many people have carbon washer jets?}:p

    step #3
take out most of the colour, not all-most real carbon has a tint of bronze, just a little.

    step #4
time to make the pattern. create a new document(12p X 6p)

    step #5
hit 'D' to get default colours, select a 1/4 of the square, then fill with the gradient tool and do the opisite corner so it looks like the one shown below.

    step #6
    define pattern.

    step #7
create new (3000p X 3000p)-big i know, but its good.(sometims you might need a bigger one, there is no problem with having excess pattern.)

    step #8
now fill with your newly made pattern (edit>fill)

    step #9
once filled, free transform while holding shift, resize it to about this size on 16.67% zoomed

    step #10
copy the cf pattern that you just resized onto your car, but resize it using the free transform tool (ctrl+t) to get it to a realistic size.

    step #11
    filter>distort>twirl>55:p

    step #12
now flip, skew, transform, perspective to make it get smaller as the further away it is, till it looks just right.

    step #13
now hold ctrl + click on the layer of the actual hood layer (in this picture its layer 1), it should select around the shape of the hood, now hit shift+ctrl+i now hit delete

    step #14
change the opacity of your pattern to about 30-40, should look like the picture below.

    step #15
now change the brightness of the orig. bonnet, i normally add some contrast to make it look more shiny-dont make the bonnet too dark, or too light

    step #16
and you are done, here is the finished product, i couldnt help but add some gauges lol

    hope it werx 4 u!

AND PLZ TELL ME IF YOU GUYS NEED ANY MORE TUTORIALS!

now fill that with flat black.

    step#5
now crate a new layer, call that 'shading' select the pan area.

    step#6
get a reasonably big brush and on a realy low opacity (10% or so) brush in a LITTLE bit of black closeish to the 'hole' soit looks like so....

    step#7
now create a new layer and call this 'side' and select the last side part

    step #8
and as in 'step #6' brush a fraction of black inside this so it changes its darkness a bit.

    spep #9
now turn off the outline, it should look sharp.***not finished yet***

    step#10
now create a new layer called 'highlights' and *in white* draw in the lines of the vent.

    step#11

    open photoshop first.
open a car pic(i always use high res. pics with a white background , preferbly)
    I'll use this mitsubishi Colt

    1. this pic is way too big , so we make it twice as small as it was b4, by doin this : image>image size> an make it 50 percent smaller
    2. select the whole car, except for the tires and wheels
    like this

    after that "layer via copy".
    3. move the new layer down like u lower the car

4.duplicate the layer wich was lowered and rotate it so the front end points down, I also brushed and smudged a bit so the shadow of the car still wuld be there

    5. do the same 2 make the rear end point down

hey w8 left tire is missin, copy and past a new tire on that side
    i used th orginal tire
now we can go on with image ready by doin this
click this button on the pic

b4 goin 2 image ready , only make the background layer visible

    IMAGEREADY TIME

    7. duplicate the cuurent frame(look at pic)

    make the first layer visible
    8. tween the second frame(see pic), and add 2 frames.

    9. duplicate the last frame and make the lowered car layer invisible by clickin on the eye next 2 it
make the layer with the front end pointed down visible and tween again
    10. do the same thing for the last layer
    11. now dupplicate the last frame and make evrythin invisible except 4 the background an tween it(add 3 frames this time)

How To Airbrush a Sideskirt (long)

ok, here is a realy loooooong tutorial on how to brush a side skirt. - 30 steps!

i can not promise this will work for you first time but if you follow these steps you will be on your way. IT TAKES PATIENCE AND PRACTICE!

    here we go.....

    step #1
we desaturated the car so its easyer to brush.

    step #2
now on a new layer draw the outline of the kit you want.

    step #3
on another new layer called 'base of kit' but stay on your 'outline' layer. select themagic wand and click anywhere outside of the kit you drew (where it is blank) hit ctrl+shift+i.

    step #4
now select your 'base of kit' layer.

    step #5
get out the eyedropper tool and select a colour from the car that would suit the selected area.

    step #6
fill the selected area with this colour.

    step #7
now change to black paint, on a low opacity and brush some shaddow on the bottom ***make sure you do this on a new layer inacse you f**k it up***

    step #8
now i want a little 'lip' on my skirt so on the top of this lip i brush in a little bit of white ***make sure you do this on a new layer inacse you f**k it up***

    step #9
now to add 3D to the top, select something like this on a new layer:

    step #10
now fill it with a lightish grey

    step #11
now ctrl+click on the 'base of kit' layer but do not switch to that layer. hit shift+ctrl+i and then delete the excess.

    step #12
now create a new layer but put it below the topline so that the top line covers the top of this layer-keep the selected area selected.

    step #13
now on a VERY low opacity paint in a little bit of black at the top evenly.

    step #14
when you disable the 'outline' layer, it should look like this:

now scroll down coz they wont let me post any more pictures in this single post.

    skirt airbrushing tutorial-(contd')

    step #15
ctrl+click on the 'top part thinggy' layer. now get out black on a low opacity and brush in some darkness where needed

    step #16
    should look like this now:

    step #17
now, since i want a smooth kit for a smooth rx7 ill merge the skirt so far and blur some parts to make it look rounder. if you want it to look sharp-dont blur.

    step #18
now we just add some extra parts where needed (sorta like step #16) and merge down.

    step #19
on a new 'highlight' layer draw over the kit with the line tool in WHITEon the key points of the kit (edges & stuff)

    step #20
now just lower the opacity of this layer so it looks more realistic.

    step #21
now for the vents-on a new layer, select around the outside of the vent.

    step #22
get a solid brush and paint in some black, in a straight line-where you drew where you wanted the hole.

    step #23
now choose a soft brush on a low opacity and gently brush in a soft shadow in the top corner.

    step #24
now select where the visible bottom part of the vent will be, and paint this in light grey as before.

    step #25
now get out the black on a low opacity and brush in the right shade.

    step #26
on a new highlight layer do the same as step #19

    step #27z0
    same as step #20

    step #28z01
repeat steps #21-#27 to do the same for a 2nd vent (if applicable)

    step #29z02
    now delete any over-hanging parts.

    step #30z03
now merge together the skirt. youhave sucsessfully made a side skirt if you folowed these intructions.

now with a few mods i came up with this

holy crap this tutorial took me ages!

    step #3
