Default On the lookout for a stolen bike pls!!

Sometime between last night and early this morning, my buddy had his bike stolen from outside his home in the vicinity of mardaloop. 2002 Yamaha R6 Blue in color. Stock colors and graphics. The only other items that may help differential it from other blue R6 is: Hindle titanium highmount exhaust, and a white dunlop decal written vertically along the 2 front forks. Plate number PR649. Thanks guys

damn another one, probably by the same thiefs i bet.... everyone should lock up their bikes or put it in their garages man! not safe by leaving it outside especially late nights.... and chances of these bikes being found r gonna be slim, probably in pieces by now...

ill keep an eye out, also everyone keep an eye out for people selling bike parts for cheap on buy/sell or on ebay.....

sorry to say, but i doubt that you will find the bike. I'm sure that all the noticable decals, exaust, etc have been removed. The bike will be used for parts to rebuild a write off.

I was just thinkin about these threads yesterday during a boring day of work. Maybe the poster should have a contact number just incase we don't bust people riding their own bikes/cars?

I dunno, just a thought.. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Unfortunately if your bike is stolen, it's in pieces within an hour. I keep mine in the garage and I still use the chain/lock that came with it.
You don't wanna race me.... you've seen taillights like mine a thousand times!!!!

    You kinda owned yourself there.
I think theft coverage for a bike is a must!

You'd be surprised at how many people get there garages broken into and their bike stolen right out of their garage.

^ only those garages with side doors are easy to break into, the ones without would be kinda hard unless you weren't home. I lock up my bike in the garage anyways just to be safe.

Is there alarm systems for bikes? What steps other than putting in the garage do people take to protect their bikes?

i'm worried if I ride to a friend's house and park it outside, someone will steal it right under my nose!

There are bike alarms out there, however I dont know how effective they are against a couple guys just picking up your bike and putting it in the back of a truck.

Just be smart about it, park in areas where someone would see the bike getting stolen, and dont leave it parked somewhere for too long. When someone's bike gets stolen, you cant help but feel bad for them, but when you hear how it usually happens, its because the owner wasnt too smart about it. Ive heard about 2 brand new 750 Gixers getting stolen, and one was because the guy parked it ouside every night without a alarm or lock. The other was a guy who picked up some girl on 17th with his bike, and she ended up being a pro rider and stealing his bike when he went to pay for gas.
