I am wondering if a 225/50R15 Tire will fit a 15x6" rim. Anybody?

Yes it will fit. you will have overhang though. The 225 is 8.8" wide at the widest point of the tire (side wall).. i have 215 on a 6"rim right now, and they are ok.. the only thing i would check is the clearence in the wheel wells.. also, when you have the shop mount them, only have them do one, and look at it before putting them all on

Yes, they will fit the wheel. 7 would have been better for the profile.. then again your dragging so sidewall height would be an advantage.

Like ninspeed stated - will it clear the wheel well when you have complete lock left and right?

The only car in the same class that I know that can run 225/50/15 front with out modding the fender wall is the neon.

Out of curiosity what kind of tire?

No, I got a set of used yoko R's for autox, I have to pick them up today, I only have 2 advans and I'd thought I'd use them for drag racing

    No no no
R tires are not drag slicks.

    (1) Heavy Tire
    (2) You'd have to burn the tire to near cord to heat them up
(Unless you did a round on the track)

Big wide R's are better for draging than stock all seasons...

The all season will provide a better time / grip.

I've had friends that have tried to use R tires to cussion the blow to the axel (boosting 22psi) and all they get are slow times and corrded tires.

Street tires provided the better medium IMO. Then again a set of Hoosier makes things more interesting.
