So can I do this? I'm not exactly sure. I have a video out jack that takes a standard rca plug, but what I'm wondering if it will just hook directly into a tv that has the same plug. If anyone knows, let me know. thanks

It will work but your desktop will be very fuzzy.. 640x480 max resolution. You should also have a program or a button with your laptop(this button might require software to work) that will switch it over. Or some machines will go straight to the tv if the jack is plugged in when you boot up.

I only use it to play downloaded movies.. for some reason once you maximize a movie its perfectly clear.

Are you in Korea? I may have mistaken with another member......

Anyhow, some laptop will go up to 800X600 but that's as far as it goes. Only good if you play movies or play arcade style games, sucks for everything else.

And IF you ARE trying to do this in Korea, make sure they are NTSC.
