Nintendo DS...Groupbuy?

This thing looks pretty sweet, and I have a 7 hour flight ot the Dominican @ Christmas, so I was thinking it might not be too bad to pick one of these up. It's released Nov. 21, @ $149 US, so probly about $230 here. I was thinkin about the Ipod Group order, and they cut about $100 off the cost by skipping the middleman, and thought it would be sweet if it could work here, but I really don't know anything about that kind of shit.

Do you think if there were 50-100 or more people in on an order, that we coul get em straight from Nintendo without the retail markup? I don't know if there would be enough demand, but around Xmas who knows.

It pretty much plays N64 and Gamecube games, and has like a pen to play em, so I'm thinking it might almost be like a PDA too. The PSP thing from Sony looks pretty sweet too, especially cuz of GT4, but it'll be like $450 or something, and I dunno when it'll be released.

They don't adjust prices that frequently, I guess $200 aint bad though...I think when Gamecube came out it was $150 in US, ans $230 here, only a couple years ago. I guess its time to stop using the old cut it in half and add it rule for converting US to CDN (150/2 = 75, 75+150=225 -> 230).

Nice thing is it plays GBA games too..but I don't think original GB ones, so I dunno if I'll sell my SP or not...maybe I should sell it now b4 the DS comes out and lowers its used value.


PSP, probly not till November 2005, this thing's November 2004, and it's Sony's first handheld, so it might not be quite as polished as the DS cuz Nintendo's made many GB's over the years

Playstation was also Sony's first platform...and well ..it did pretty damn well and surpassed Nintendo ...so guess we'll have to wait and see how it does

the psp is way more powerful than the ds, only negative thing about the psp is the pricetag... and the battery life.
