Default 8 Turbo 57 Chevy Bel Air..... yes 8 seriously

This car was featured in the current hot rod issue. Take 8 GT15 turbos (mostly used on small 4cyl diesel engines), Add 286 feet of induction piping (250-300lbs weight on front end) and one Red on Red 57 Chevy Bel Air show car and this is what you end up with. My practical side thinks its a stupid idea but its just so well done. That is a crazy plumbing job. The engine did make 730hp 710lb/ft at 13lb of boost On the Dyno and the turbos were all getting the same ammount of air. It must sound like a jet engine going down the road. ummm, that motor has a fair capacity to move air, so im thinking that this may be a somewhat inefficient mannor of boosting?

You have to admire the ingenuity and effort though. That had to have taken a ton of time to make all that tubing and 700ish horsepower is a lot... granted it probably isnt all that efficient, but still .

It isn't something practical. You don't get more power by adding more than one turbo (usually). It is inefficient because the same amount of exhaust is coming out but instead of spinning one turbo, it has to spin 8...
