Default Getting pictures printed on security cards

Anyone know where I can go to take a picture and print 'em on those security card thingys that get you into buildings? I don't feel like shelling out $10k to buy the equipment to do it myself... are there companies that come out and take pics and print 'em onto our cards?

Call the high schools like Western Canada, we had our picture put right onto our ID cards and I dont think the school had bought the equipment. If you call them maybe they can tell you where they brought in the equipment from

Will the pictures be printed on proximity cards? Or will it be a dumb piece of plastic with a picture and name on it?

The pictures are just printed on stickers and stuck onto the proximity cards. So any photographer that has the equipment to print onto stickers can do it.

I wonder if it would cost more to have a photographer to do it or just purchase the equipment.

On the other hand I wonder if you could do it yourself just with your digital camera and find a source for heavy grade stickers that you can print yourself.

Proximity Cards. Those HIDCorp ones. They're telling us the equipment to do it ourselves is $10k and I was hoping to contract it out for a lot less than that. We have about 100 cards we need done.

Yeah they arent done with stickers...some might be but not the ones I think rage is talking about and mine weren't in high school...just call around, maybe try the big photo companies but I had to have a separate photo taken for my ID card so it might not have anything to do with them

they print your photo onto a plastic sticker about a half mm thick, and it adhears to the main proximity card. *looking at my HIDcorp proximity card right now*

On the HIDcorp cards they just use a sticker.

Hrm, my group telecom one is printed right on the card, not a sticker.

I guess Telus just sucks .

When I had a Group Telecom card back in Winnipeg it was a different format. The card was about the thickness of a credit card and was directly printed.

Has GT switched to the common HID cards which are thicker (and have a bevelled edge)?

These guys sell the printers. Pretty sure they have a Calgary location. Don't think they are that expensive either.

    Or call these:

Full Color Imaging Ltd - 403-228-4330
Photo ID Security Cards - 403-273-0272
